Pete Hobbs is a composer, songwriter, and producer whose music has reached audiences around the world, from global campaigns for Apple, Coca-Cola, Cadbury, and General Electric, to feature films including Peter Rabbit, Easy A, Baby Mama, The Land of Sometimes, and Time of Their Lives, and television shows such as Grey’s Anatomy.

As one half of the cult indie band The Boy Least Likely To, Pete helped shape a distinctive sound that balanced handcrafted charm with sharp melodic writing. That same sensibility continues to guide his work today. He now composes and produces across film, TV, sync, and artist projects, creating emotionally resonant music that’s often quirky, catchy, and instantly memorable.

Pete takes a hands-on, DIY approach to every project, providing full-service music creation from composition to final mix. His collaborators have included Tim Rice, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Helena Bonham Carter, Ewan McGregor, James Fox, Gwenno, and George Pelham, among others, and he has produced or mixed for a wide range of artists across the indie, alternative, and pop world.

He also co-founded and co-runs the independent record label Wire & Wax, home to its first signing, the rising virtuoso blues guitarist Thomas Heppell, whom Pete also co-manages. Through the label he continues to expand his creative involvement across artist development, production, and release strategy.

Alongside his creative work, Pete is a mentor for emerging artists through the Help Musicians charity, sharing experience and insight with upcoming talent. His solo project, Diving At Dawn, explores a more introspective side where songwriting, atmosphere, and storytelling converge.

Whether writing for picture, developing music for sync, or collaborating with an artist, Pete’s work is defined by melody, individuality, and a love of honest, characterful sound.
